There are two spring breaks in Biloxi. Biloxi Public Schools are off Friday, March 26, through Friday, April 2, 2027, a week that includes Easter Sunday, March 28. Separately, thousands of visiting students and drivers come to the beachfront for an unofficial spring break weekend each April; the city does not sponsor it, but it puts a traffic plan in place. The 2027 weekend had not been announced as of Oct. 12.

Students also have Mardi Gras break Feb. 8-11 (Feb. 12 is a teacher work day), so Biloxi families get two weeks off in early spring. Private schools and neighboring districts set their own calendars.

The beachfront weekend and the traffic plan

In 2026 the visitor spring break weekend was April 9-12. The city’s rack card says “Spring Break is not a city-sponsored event” and lists the rules:

  • U.S. 90 may be cut to two lanes between Cowan Road and Iberville Drive.
  • Service drives on U.S. 90 close at 10 p.m. unless posted; vehicles left there may be towed.
  • Park only in marked areas: no parking in the median or on sidewalks.
  • No riding on tailgates, bumpers, roofs or hoods.
  • No glass containers and no underage drinking. No animals in event areas.
  • Amplified sound only with a permit.
  • Cross only at corners or crosswalks, and stay off barricades.
  • ATVs, UTVs and other unlicensed vehicles are banned from the road, beach, sidewalks and boardwalks. Golf carts registered as low-speed vehicles may use designated roads only.

Camps

In 2025 the Kroc Center, 575 Division St., ran a Spring Break Camp for ages 5 to 12, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 21-25. The 2027 camp had not been posted as of Oct. 12; call 228-207-1218 or see krocmscoast.org. The city’s summer camp signs up in April; see summer camps and pools.

Things to do that week

  • Ship Island. Ferries to the barrier island in Gulf Islands National Seashore leave from the Gulfport Yacht Harbor at Jones Park and typically run from mid-March through October, according to Ship Island Excursions.
  • The lighthouse. The Biloxi Visitors Center, 1050 Beach Blvd., runs lighthouse tours daily from 9 to 10 a.m., weather permitting, and is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Shrimping and sailing. The Biloxi Shrimping Trip, 693 Beach Blvd., and the Biloxi Schooners at 367 Beach Blvd. (228-435-6320) both sail from the beachfront.
  • Museums. The Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, 115 1st St., is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art is at 386 Beach Blvd., and Beauvoir, 2244 Beach Blvd., offers tours daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Run the bridge. The Casino Bridge Run is Saturday, April 3, 2027, the day after school break ends: the 10K starts at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K run and walk at 9 a.m., from 151 Beach Blvd.
