Biloxi Parks and Recreation runs three fenced dog parks, and the busiest of them, at Popp’s Ferry, got new agility equipment in 2025. Leashed dogs are welcome at several downtown events through the year. This guide covers where to take a dog, the rules that apply and who to call.

The three dog parks
| Park | Address | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Biloxi Dog Park (Popp’s Ferry) | Popp’s Ferry Recreation Complex, 2150 Popp’s Ferry Road | The large park; agility equipment added in 2025 |
| Pixie’s Memorial Dog Park | Hiller Park, 1950 Atkinson Road | Smaller park off Pass Road |
| Savarro Dog Park | 1353 Irish Hill Drive | Smaller park in Savarro Park |
All three have drinking water, benches, open space and waste stations, according to the city’s parks page.
New equipment. In May 2025 the City Council approved a $22,257 package for the Popp’s Ferry park from Magnolia Recreation: hoops, steppers, a dog walk ramp, two dog fire hydrants, two resting tables, a jump, a water fountain and three waste stations. Parks Director Sherry Bell called it “one of the most used parks in the city.”
Hours. The city’s May 2025 notice gave dog park hours as 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily; the parks ordinance allows dog parks to stay open as late as 10 p.m. Check the sign at the gate. Closures are posted on the Biloxi Dog Park Facebook page.
Dog park rules
From the city’s posted rules (PDF):
- Every dog must be licensed and vaccinated and wear a visible license.
- No puppies under 4 months and no females in heat.
- Leash on and gates fully closed when entering and leaving; carry the leash at all times.
- Two dogs per handler, at most. Handlers must be 16 or older.
- No children 8 and under; ages 9 to 15 must be with a handler.
- No spiked collars, grooming, professional training, or food or treats of any kind.
- Pick up after your dog and fill any holes it digs.
- Remove your dog at the first sign of aggression. Handlers are responsible for any injury their dog causes, and use of the park is at your own risk.
Report illegal or suspicious activity at a dog park to 228-388-7170.
Leash rules around town
Outside the dog parks, keep your dog leashed and under control. Biloxi’s animal control rules are in the city’s Code of Ordinances; call Animal Control at 228-392-0641 with questions or to report a dog at large.
At big events the rules are stricter. The city’s spring break traffic plan, for example, says no animals are allowed in any event area.
Dog-friendly events
- Krewe of Barkloxi PAWrade, each February during Carnival. The 10th annual parade was Feb. 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Point Cadet Pavilion, 121 Cadet St., presented by the Humane Society of South Mississippi. Dogs register through the Humane Society. Details: 228-435-6149.
- Boo on the Rue, late October on Rue Magnolia downtown. The 2025 party had a costume contest with prizes for pets, and pets had to be on a leash. See our Halloween events page.
Before a storm
Typical public hurricane shelters in Harrison County do not take pets. Make a plan for your dog before hurricane season; see our hurricane prep guide.
