Charles R. Hegwood Biloxi Community Market

- Where: beneath the I-110 overpass at Hopkins Boulevard and Howard Avenue (932 Howard Ave.), downtown Biloxi
- What: local produce plus other goods from vendors. The city renamed it a “community market” because vendors sell more than fruits and vegetables.

The market is named for Charles R. Hegwood, its first manager and a longtime teacher and coach at Notre Dame High School; the City Council renamed the Biloxi Farmers Market for him in December 1995. It holds special market days through the year: this October, Halloween at the Market runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.
The city posts a produce availability calendar (PDF) showing what is in season, and a tip sheet for vendors (PDF).
