The ceremony at Biloxi National Cemetery
The cemetery, at 101 Memorial Drive, lists Memorial Day among its two annual special events, with Wreaths Across America in December, and asks the public to contact the office for dates. In 2026 the ceremony was Monday, May 25; Keesler Air Force Base reported that its leaders took part and that Col. Christopher Robinson, the 81st Training Wing commander, spoke.
Visiting the cemetery:
- Grounds: open daily, dawn to dusk.
- Office: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, closed on federal holidays except Memorial Day. A kiosk outside the administration building prints a map to any grave during visitation hours.
- Flowers: fresh cut flowers may be placed year-round, in the temporary vases kept in black bins labeled “VASES” around the cemetery. Potted plants are allowed on graves only from 10 days before through 10 days after Memorial Day (and Easter).
- Not allowed at any time: plantings, statues, vigil lights, breakable objects, alcohol, photographs, or anything fixed or glued to a headstone.
Biloxi Police also hold an annual Fallen Officer Ceremony each May for officers who died in the line of duty; in 2026 it was Wednesday, May 13, at 10 a.m. at the Lopez-Quave Public Safety Center, 170 Porter Ave., according to the city.
