Labor Day 2027 is Monday, Sept. 6. It is the last long weekend of summer on the coast: high school football is under way, the Shuckers are in their final weeks, and in 2026 downtown held its last First Friday party of the year that weekend. The 2027 city events had not been announced as of Oct. 12.

Events Labor Day weekend

Baseball. The 2027 schedule has the Biloxi Shuckers home against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Saturday, Sept. 4, and Sunday, Sept. 5, at Keesler Federal Park, 105 Caillavet St. Game times had not been posted as of Oct. 12. In 2026 the Shuckers hosted the Birmingham Barons through the holiday weekend, Sept. 1-6.

First Friday. In 2026 Biloxi Main Street held its last First Friday of the year on the Friday of Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the HowHop Creative District at Howard Avenue and Hopkins Boulevard, with live music, food trucks and arts and crafts vendors. Free.

Theater. Biloxi Little Theatre, 220 Lee St., opened “Alice by Heart” on Labor Day weekend 2026 (Sept. 4-6). Its 2027 season is posted at 4blt.org.

What is open and closed

  • City offices: closed. For Labor Day 2024 all non-emergency city offices closed, and the Biloxi Visitors Center, 1050 Beach Blvd., stayed open through the holiday.
  • Schools: Biloxi Public Schools close for Labor Day; it was Monday, Sept. 7, on the 2026-27 calendar (PDF).
  • Trash and recycling: on Labor Day 2026 the Harrison County Utility Authority ran routes on the normal schedule. Pickup in Biloxi is on Thursday or Friday; see our trash guide.
  • Federal offices and post offices close for the federal holiday.
  • City parks: most are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily; see parks and trails.
