North Biloxi is the mainland side of the city across the Back Bay from the peninsula, reached by the Popp’s Ferry Bridge and I-110. The City of Biloxi’s comprehensive plan, adopted in December 2009, treats it as one of four neighborhood planning areas and describes it as mostly “single-family residential neighborhoods,” with a growing commercial strip on Cedar Lake Road near I-10. OpenStreetMap also marks a place named North Biloxi near Popp’s Ferry Road.

Where it is
The plan’s planning area map puts North Biloxi north of the Back Bay of Biloxi and south of the Tchoutacabouffa River and I-10, with D’Iberville to the east and the Biloxi River and Woolmarket to the west. The plan says the Back Bay and the Tchoutacabouffa River “define it.” Popp’s Ferry Road is its main road, linking to West Biloxi over the Popp’s Ferry Bridge and east toward I-110, and Cedar Lake Road is its main commercial corridor. It is in ZIP code 39532.
Homes and flood risk
The plan says North Biloxi’s main housing is single-family homes in low-density subdivisions, with pockets of apartments along Popp’s Ferry Road and Cedar Lake Road. It also lists Biloxi High School, the Biloxi Sports Complex, Camp Wilkes Park and the Sunkist Country Club among its institutional and park land. North Biloxi took less damage from Hurricane Katrina than the peninsula, the plan says, but low-lying property along the Back Bay and the Biloxi and Tchoutacabouffa rivers flooded. Check a lot on FEMA’s flood map; see our building permits and zoning guide.
Schools
The Biloxi Public School District’s attendance zones map, last revised in 2011 and linked from the district’s zones page, puts the district’s part of North Biloxi in the North Bay Elementary zone. The Census Bureau’s school district map puts some land on North Biloxi’s northern edge, near the Tchoutacabouffa River and I-10, and on its eastern edge near D’Iberville in the Harrison County School District; check those addresses on the county district’s school zone lookup. Grades are from the state’s 2025-26 report card:
| School | Grades | State grade, 2025-26 |
|---|---|---|
| North Bay Elementary, 1825 Popp’s Ferry Road | K-4 | A |
| Biloxi Upper Elementary, 1424 Father Ryan Ave. | 5-6 | B |
| Biloxi Junior High, 1921 Tribe Drive | 7-8 | A |
| Biloxi High School, 1845 Tribe Drive | 9-12 | B |
North Bay Elementary, Biloxi Junior High and Biloxi High are all in North Biloxi. Grade spans are from the federal NCES school directory. The state says 2025-26 grades used the higher of the 2025-26 or 2024-25 English results because of a writing field test. More in our schools guide.
