Enrollment and teachers

The most recent federal count, from the NCES directory, is 726 students in 2023-24, with 55 full-time-equivalent teachers, about 13.2 students per teacher. The state’s 2025-26 report card counts 49 full-time-equivalent teachers; it does not show a newer enrollment figure.

State report card

North Bay earned an A for 2025-26, with 540 of 700 possible points, in the Mississippi Department of Education’s results file, released Oct. 15, 2026. A school needed 402 points for a B and 457 for an A this year, according to the state’s guide to the system (PDF). The school also earned an A on the 2024-25 report card.

From the school’s 2025-26 report card:

Measure North Bay, 2025-26
English proficiency 71.1%
Math proficiency 73.2%
English growth, all students 73.1%
Math growth, all students 97.3%
English growth, lowest-performing 25% 61.8%
Chronically absent students 15.4%

Mississippi grades every school and district from A to F. State tests start in third grade, so the proficiency figures come from North Bay’s third and fourth graders. The state’s guide (PDF) says the grade counts proficiency and growth in English and math, with extra weight on the lowest-performing 25% of students, and English learners’ progress. Because the writing part of the English test was field tested in 2026, the state used the higher of the 2025-26 or 2024-25 English results, and it says 2025-26 grades set a new baseline that “cannot be compared” to earlier years.
