State report card

Popp’s Ferry earned a B for 2025-26, with 452 of 700 possible points, in the Mississippi Department of Education’s results file, released Oct. 15, 2026. A school needed 402 points for a B and 457 for an A this year, according to the state’s guide to the system (PDF). The school also earned a B on the 2024-25 report card.

From the school’s 2025-26 report card:

Measure Popp’s Ferry, 2025-26
English proficiency 50.0%
Math proficiency 48.1%
English growth, all students 66.7%
Math growth, all students 71.0%
English growth, lowest-performing 25% 67.5%
Chronically absent students 24.5%

Mississippi grades every school and district from A to F. State tests start in third grade, so the proficiency figures come from Popp’s Ferry’s third and fourth graders. The state’s guide (PDF) says the grade counts proficiency and growth in English and math, with extra weight on the lowest-performing 25% of students, and English learners’ progress. Because the writing part of the English test was field tested in 2026, the state used the higher of the 2025-26 or 2024-25 English results, and it says 2025-26 grades set a new baseline that “cannot be compared” to earlier years.
